“Dream without ambition is like a car without gas, you are not going anywhere” by Sean Hampton. First let’s understand the terms goals, ambitions and dreams.
Goal is a target set by a person or someone else which needs to be achieved. For example: your math teacher might set a goal saying all should solve 20 problems a day. This is a goal for you to achieve.

Ambition is more personal and it is the individuals desire to reach the goal. For example: you may want to become a doctor, an engineer, a scientist etc etc etc. This is an ambition because you are working towards it with desire and interest. In short a goal is a target set and ambition is the desire to reach the target.
Dream is something that comes without any effort before you sleep or anytime during the course of the day. This dream is just a series of images but some may want this dream to be fulfilled, so they set them as goals and work with passion to achieve their ambition. You might be wondering that first I said set goals and now achieve their ambition? That’s because when you work on a goal with interest and passion it becomes an ambition.
I have been talking about goals and ambition but I never said how to achieve the goal. The steps are:
1. Set goals
2. Write down the activities which are required to achieve the goal
3. Track the progress by ticking the completed tasks
4. Every day make sure you take step towards achieving the goal
5. Celebrate the success, even if it is small

“Dream is not what you see in sleep, it is the thing which doesn’t let you sleep” by APJ Abdul Kalam. You have to work towards your goal to achieve it no matter what obstacles you face. In the start of my blog I quoted Sean Hampton “Dream without ambition is like a car without gas, you are not going anywhere”. What will happen to a person without an ambition? As the quote says you are not going anywhere. Let’s say one day you decide to not study or do homework or not work. You don’t set goals for yourself, at the end of the day what happened, you were happy throughout the day doing things you like but did you learn anything new? Nope. Yesterday’s knowledge is what you have at the end of the day. Today you might want to be happy, not study and not set goals but in the future you will regret your mistake, but at that time it will be too late to correct it. Rather than realizing later it will be better to change now.
